Become part of a strong team in Glostrup
As a sous chef at Catering Danmark in Glostrup, you'll be part of a close-knit kitchen community, working side by side with colleagues you can count on - both professionally and socially. You come in, cook and go home with them every day. You can focus on cooking and management - all the practicalities are taken care of by others.
At the same time, you get fixed working hours during the day, time off every evening and only on call every other Saturday. You will be employed as a salaried employee with good conditions and a secure working day in Denmark's largest catering company.
Your role as deputy manager
You'll be a key player in the kitchen with daily responsibility for managing 8-10 employees (and up to 15-20 in high season). You'll be involved in production and lead the way when it comes to quality, overview and co-operation.
The day typically starts at 06:00 on weekdays and 05:00 on Saturdays. The week begins with the preparation of basic dishes, and towards the weekend it's all about making the large portions that are served at parties across the country.
"The biggest difference between us and a restaurant is that you get to make large portions. Our smallest pot is 100 litres. We have a high level of professional pride - and we expect you to have that too." - says the head chef
What we expect from you
- You are a skilled chef, caterer or have other relevant training.
- You have solid experience in professional cooking - preferably in a commercial kitchen.
- You preferably have experience in people management.
- You're in control of quality and self-checking and stay calm - even when it's busy.
- You can communicate in Danish and English - both verbally and in writing, as all our production information is formulated in Danish.
- You are reliable, have an overview and take responsibility for your team.
- And of course, you contribute to the good humour and strong team spirit.
