Chef wanted for Brede Høker - a place with flavour, meaning and people
In the heart of the historic Brede Værk is Brede Høker - a café and grocery store with big ambitions, a small kitchen and a heart that beats for community, sustainability and food with a story. We run both a café and a community centre and regularly invite the local community in for communal meals, long table dinners and lively events.
We are now looking for a Head Chef who will lead our culinary universe and help unite everyday life and parties, café operations and catering, people and meals.
What you will be responsible for:
- The daily everyday kitchen with café cards and takeaway
- Party menus for everything from weddings and confirmations to corporate events
- Communal dinners and events in the village hall
- Small production tasks where logistics and creativity go hand in hand
- A small, dedicated kitchen team with both experienced professionals and young people in their first job
We imagine that you:
- Experience in a professional kitchen - preferably as a chef or sous chef
- Have an overview and can keep a cool head when the pace picks up
- Desire to plan, lead and be the spoon in hand
- Have an understanding of finance and operations - or the courage to learn it
- Passionate about food, people and the meal as a focal point
- You can be a trained chef, self-taught or something in between - most importantly, you have the desire, skills and energy to co-create a vibrant food scene with heart and attitude.
