Chef for Restaurant 1861 - Marienlyst Seafront Hotel

Can you work magic with flavour, seasonality and craftsmanship - and do you love to do it in direct contact with guests? Then we might have found the right kitchen for you.

1861 is one of three restaurants at Marienlyst Seafront Hotel. Here we work with an open kitchen and with the heart outside the chef's jacket. We don't just want our guests to eat well - we want them to feel that someone has put love, curiosity and professional pride into every single dish.

About the job
You'll be part of an ambitious kitchen team that loves food and people - working closely together to create a seamless experience for our guests. We work in an open kitchen where hospitality and presence are a natural part of the role.

Your tasks will include:

  • Preparation of dishes in our seasonal menus

  • Daily production and set-up

  • Joint responsibility for quality, hygiene and flow in the kitchen

  • Opportunity to influence menus and be involved in the development of 1861's food concept

  • Cross-collaboration with both kitchen and waiters - we are one team

Who are you?

  • Skilled chef or with solid experience in the industry

  • Passionate about quality, craftsmanship and curiosity

  • Enjoy interacting with guests and can balance precision with personality

  • A team player who stays calm and collected - even when the going gets tough

  • Experience with planning and structure in day-to-day operations is a plus

The practicalities

  • Full-time position with every other weekend off

  • We change the menu approximately every six weeks and always work with the best seasonal ingredients

  • Start-up by appointment
